Our home

This past week has been super crazy for us with getting things done for the new house. All our paperwork is in order and now we are just waiting on a lawyers appointment and to sign the final paperwork. We had the house inspection done Thursday and everything went well. The house needs minor work but nothing out of the norm for a slightly older home. I'm still in a bit of shock that we actually purchased our first home. We drove by last night and the sold sign is finally up :)

When we first went to look at it, I stepped inside and was like "oh this is small" but as we went to look at each room I started loving the house more and more and it suits us perfectly. It's a rancher home with 3 bedroom (each a pretty decent size) and 1.5 baths. The half bath ensuite is in the master bedroom.

The kitchen is what sold me. It's got a ton of cupboards, and a great layout. 3 people could easily work in the kitchen the way its designed. I love the fact that there's a skylight as well. We plan on updating the cupboards at a later date. I also love the fact that its open above the cupboards so we can put decorative items or store things above them. The door with the glass window was another charming feature.

Friday we went to look at paint colors, and decided on a few. The two smaller bedrooms are going to be a soft blue color and our bedroom will be a cheery yellow. The hardest part is deciding on the living room. The living room is open to the dining room so we would need to pick a color that is used in both rooms. So far we are looking at orangish colors (think fall orange not halloween orange).

Last night we went to look at flooring since we plan to take out the pink carpet in the living room and replace it with hardwood. There are so many options and color choices, we definitly need to go back before we can make a decision.
