2023 in Review


First off I didn’t realize I haven’t posted on here in a full year. Life has been chaotic but also I’ve been living in the moment but wanted to come back and document the year in review
1. What did you do in 2023 that you’d never done before?
Got to experience life through the eyes of a 2 year old.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes and no, while I didn’t exercise per day having a 2 year old keeps a person bay! Here are my resolutions for this year: 

2023 resolutions:
  1. Eat healthier and drink more water
  2. Get more exercise
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no.

5. What places/countries did you visit? 
We did manage a couple trips up island to Powell River and enjoyed some time away at our new trailer.

6. What would you like to have in 2024 that you lacked in 2023?
More travelling and to bring home a sibling for my daughter.

7. What dates from 2023 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 2023 - found out we were expecting #2
5 July 2023 - Sadly lost our little one at 13 weeks 4 days
10 July 2023 - 13th Wedding Anniversary
24 July 2023 - our daughters second birthday 
11 October 2023 - 5 year anniversary of my moms passing
12 Nov 2023 - found out we were expecting again
Christmas 2023 - Christmas through the eyes of a toddler 

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Balancing being a full time working mom and having a toddler, finding out we were expecting again (never thought we would get to experience a sibling for our daughter).

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not exercising as much as I hope.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had my gallbladder removed unexpectedly in October and suffered a miscarriage in July. 

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Presents and experiences for our daughter, our new trailer.

12. Where did most of your money go?
Buying stuff for our daughter 

13. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My daughter’s milestones! Talking so much now and seeing her excitement for Christmas. Watching her flourish in swim class and experiencing new things. Finding out we were expecting again x2.

14. What song will always remind you of 2023?
Hmmm

15. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter 
c) richer or poorer? Richer and poorer

16. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Exercising and travelling, getting to bring our second child home

17. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Working 

18. How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas was spent home with DH and our daughter. Was a nice quiet Christmas at home. Spent time with the in-laws before Christmas which was wonderful. 

19. Did you fall in love in 2023?
I continued to be in love in 2023 and my heart is growing for this new child

20. What was your favorite TV program?
married at first sight, 90 day fiancĂ©, sister wives 

21. What was the best book you read?
Remarkably bright creatures, book lovers and the dead romantics.

22. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Not really a discovery but rediscovering the classics and kids songs.

23. What did you want and get?
Making memories with my daughter and DH and letting my daughter experience the big exciting world 

24. What did you want and not get?
A second child, but expecting our 3rd

25. What was your favorite film of this year?
Leo

26. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 37!Was a low key birthday

27. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably better? Having more time odd with my daughter 

28. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2023?
Very casual at home and business casual at work

29. What kept you sane?
My Hubs, my family and friends, my daughter.

30. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None

31. What political issue stirred you the most?
I stayed away from political issues

32. Who did you miss?
My family and best friend who live across the country, my mom and grandmother. 

33. Who was the best new person you met?
The mom of a little boy I provided milk for remains in touch 

34. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2023:
Life is short, love it how you want to. Make memories, take photos and be in photos but also be present
