Settling in.... kinda

Well we are all moved into our new home. Friends of ours were nice enough to come over on the 24th and help us move all our furniture and big things to the new house. We started around 7:30 and were finished by noon so I must say it was a successful move. Except for the fact Hubs hurt his back early on in the move. So he's been off work since and seeing a Chiropractor.

March 25th was Hubs 29th Birthday (sorry for such a late announcement of this Hubs) and we were originally going to have a house warming party/birthday get together for him at the new home, however reno's were and still are going on so it was definitly a no go. We decided to postpone his bday/house warming until everything was done and we are unpacked. We did however have a nice supper out. My best friend Kathryn, who lives in Newfoundland had sent us a card with a gift certificate to eat out since she couldnt be here to help us (how thoughtful is she) so we put it to good use. One of Hubs good friends joined us for dinner at Montana's. They have a new menu and I must say its much better then their old one. I had a couple Mamma's Old time lemonades (absolutely delicious and alcoholic), while Hubs and his friend had a couple beers. To start we got their new pretzel dippers appie and we all ended up ordering burgers. For dessert we split an order of freshly made mini doughnuts with chocolate and caramel dipping sauce, served in a brown paper bag (we had to shake the bag to coat the doughnuts with icing sugar. Our meal was awesome and delicious and definitly a deserved break from all the moving.

Now onto the reno's.... Our reno's are taking a bit longer then anticipated (ok A LOT LONGER) then I thought, and there is dust and dry wall and stuff everywhere. Our hardwood and carpeting is in and looks awesome. We ended up hiring a professional painter to paint the ceilings and main living area/our bedroom/master bath and it was so worth it. It looks great and saved us so much time that we really didn't have. Our bathroom is coming along slowly, but when its done it will be worth it. I'll be sure to post pics when its all finished.

We had our move out inspection with our old place today and everything went well. We get our deposit back within the next couple weeks and our keys are turned in. So we officially only own our house now. Even though the reno's are a little stressful its totally worth it when I get to sit out on our deck and write this blog entry. Can't wait to have many more days like today. Must run for now.... take care
