Accolades and a brief review of the week

Another week has come and gone already. Last week I worked an extra 8 hrs for a work function and since I went back to work yesterday I have been receiving many thanks for the amount of work I put in (I went above and beyond what I was supposed to do and even did some of the duties of the supervisor). I have been doing these types of functions for a while and so I know what to expect and how to run them. I also really enjoy the type of job it is. Basically I'm serving (with the help of other servers) a 5-8 course dinner to 100+ people after having set the tables up with all the glassware, dinnerware, etc. This time was different because I actually did a lot of prep work, made the salads, appetizer and part of the dessert myself. The only thing I didnt do was actually cook any of the items.

On Wednesday, I was on another computer course. I'm trying to get on as many courses as I can so I can further my skills to move up in careers eventually. Next week I'm going on a career planning course, which I'm very excited about to see what I can learn and take away to help me advance in my career.

Other then that, not to much new happened this week. We went out to Applebee's for supper the other night. It just opened here and we have been wanting to try it for a while. I'm not sure if we were just pumped up to try it or what but we really weren't all that impressed. It's not that the food wasn't good (the fries did come out cold, even though the plates and the rest of the meal was hot), it just wasn't amazing. The menu wasn't one in which I have to go back a few times to try all the yummy different food they had to offer, instead we found it was a generic menu which we could find at any fast food restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, except for the cramped amount of tables and the best part was my white peach sangri...yum, yum :) which came to me in a HUGE glass (Hubs even asked them if it was their regular size, he thought they brought me a super sized one)

Oh and the weather is definitly cooling off here. This weekend I'm planning on digging out my thin gloves and headband for those chilly morning I'm heading to work at 5am. We've had frost already once last week and everyone is saying we are in for a cold snowy winter. Which is abnormal for here, last year it was warm and no snow at all.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Busy Busy Busy

When I first started blogging I thought I would be on here blogging everyday, well thats definitly not the case. I do come on and read my favorite blogs everyday but need to work on a better posting routine. This past week has definitly been super busy. I worked the last 7 days straight, including Friday when I worked from 5:30am until midnight. The overtime made it worth it though.

Hubs and I have tomorrow off together which I'm super excited about since we both work shift work and lately it seems like the only time we see one another is through a quick hi in our passing. Hubs has a quick business meeting tomorrow, which means I get to do a little mall shopping, yay!! I'm hoping I find a nice pair of boots for the fall. Other then that, we are having an us day and I'm quite excited about having supper together.

The other night Hubs and I decided to go out for supper. There is a new restaurant a few friends have talked about called Original Joes that we decided to try out. We got there around 7 and it was pretty packed (It's still pretty new) but we were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice and there was a candle on each table. My only complaint was that it was a little too open, you could look across the entire room and see everything. I think a few plants or  a couple dividers would have been nice. We ordered some salt and pepper wings as an appie. Hubs got a beer and I ordered a 1/2 L of wine. For supper I ordered a Saignon Sub and Hubs got a Beef Dip. The portions were HUGE and we were stuffed by the time we were done eating so we didnt get dessert.

I also have to say a couple of congratulations. My old university friend welcomed her daughter Elise into the world 2 weeks ago and my coworker became a grandmother to her grand-daughter Jayda a couple days later.

Thats it for now, I promise to be a better blogger and I'll get around to posting our wedding details.

Happy 10.10.10

Yep, you read that right. Today is October 10, 2010 or 10.10.10. Just like certain dates in the past (07.07.07 or 08.08.08), its an extremely popular date for weddings this year. In fact, some says its the busiest day for weddings this year. According to Chinese interpretation, today is supposed to be the perfect day according to the article: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/298758. Hubs and I actually considered it as our wedding date, but in the end decided to go with 07.10.10 due to family having to travel across the country and younger kids being in school in October. Congratulations to all the brides to be out there today.

3 Month Wedding Anniversary

Today is Hubs and mine 3 month wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been 3 months already. I love you so much Hubs xoxox

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanskgiving with friends and family.
