Babies... Babies...Babies

Fall is in the air and so is the abundance of new little arrivals. From the blogs I follow three women have had little ones in the last couple weeks. A coworker of mine had a little one 5 months ago, another coworker had a little one 2 months ago. Currently at work, one of my coworkers will become a grandma any day now and an old University friend is due in 2 weeks. It seems like there has definitly been something in the water lately with all the new little ones coming into the world or soon to be arriving. I just wanted to say congratulations to all the new moms and moms to be out there.

Now that Hubs and I are married, we started getting the "when are you going to have kids" question. To be honest, I'm definitly feeling a little bit of baby fever and would love to have a little one. At the same time, its nice enjoying being a newlywed with my Hubs and just experiencing married life. I do have a 4 year old step daughter who we see part times who I adore and does curb the baby fever at times (Hubs and I have a few goals we would like to complete before adding a new addition. First, we want to pay off some loans we have on the go, be a bit more established in our careers and the biggest of all is buying a house. Right now we live in a 2 bedroom townhome that we rent but to add to our family we would need at least 3 bedrooms. To rent a 3 bedroom is atrocious so it would make more sense to just buy a place of our own to raise our family. Unfortunately, we don't live in a cheap part of the country. The average price of a house here is $450,000 and that isn't for anything overly special. Our hopes is to purchase a house within the next year and go from there....

Where does the time go??

I have been super busy with working and getting the new place organized that I haven't even thought about blogging. I've been keeping up with my favorite blogs but just not writing anything until today when I realized I haven't posted since August 25th. Fall is quickly approaching on us and I'm sooo excited that we will soon be able to bring out the fall clothes. Don't get me wrong, I love summer and everything that goes along with it; but there's something to be said about the color changes, the new smells in the air and the comfort fall clothes bring. My most favorite part of fall is pumpkin. I absolutely love pumpkin, pumpkin pie, loaf, muffins, etc. You bake it with pumpkin and I'm loving it. Last weekend, to kickstart the fall season I decided to make a pumpkin muffin recipe I came across in my local grocery store food magazine. It was such a super easy recipe. All the ingredients were easily found in the cupboard (I didn't add the pecans or raisins) and they tasted delicious. You can also easily change up the type of nuts, or add chocolate chips or dried cranberries. I even made the applesauce myself.
